MRS. LEYH'S CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS: SUPPLIES: Supplies must be with the student everyday! It is the student’s responsibility to be prepared for class! 4 spiral notebooks 2 three-ring binders Several tab dividers Lined notebook paper Package of graph paper Several Pencils (#2) and Sharpener Pens (blue/black only) 1 protractor 1 metric ruler 1 set of colored pencils 4 two-pocket folders Glue Sticks One box of tissues One set of highlighters ASSIGNMENTS: 1. All assignments must be handed in on time and at lease 75% complete. NO late work will be accepted! Students have the opportunity to get extra help and complete homework during Access Hour (60 minutes) everyday and after school Monday through Thursday from 2:40-3:15 PM! 2. Any students coming to class with work not complete or missing will owe after school or before school time to complete the work. 3. Any missed assignments due to absences will be the responsibility of the student. Students have one calendar day to return make-up work. Each teacher has a place in the classroom where make-up work can be turned in and collected. Students may also access the homework online at svm.district70.org/eighth. 4. Cheating will not be tolerated! DISCIPLINE POLICY: We will follow the 8th Grade Team discipline policy as well as the school policies. If questions, please refer to 8th Grade Team letter or Student Handbook! RESTROOM BREAKS: Students will be given a break to use the restroom and get a drink during the 85 minute class period. Therefore, students will not be allowed to use the restroom during classroom instruction unless an emergency. Students should also utilize passing time to use the restroom and get a drink. MATH: Students will be continuing their learning and discovery in Algebraic and Geometrical thinking and application. Parents and students should expect to have math homework each night. All assessments and assignments will be graded on total points received and level of demonstrating proficiency. A letter grade will be earned based on the district grading scale. Students needing additional tutoring in Math may stay after school with their teacher, or they may access a Math tutorial online at my.hrw.com. Students may access this web site to receive additional examples or tutoring for their math homework. SCIENCE: Students will review studies of earth and life sciences and begin the study of chemistry and physics. Students will learn that all disciplines of science are interrelated. All assessments, labs, and assignments will be graded on total points received and level of demonstrating proficiency. A letter grade will be earned based on the district grading scale. |
